If you ever walked into a Vision West ND room and felt the shift, you already know the truth. Collaboration is not a talking point. It is a tool for change.

As we share our 2025 Annual Report, we want to begin with gratitude.

Thank you to every member who showed up, shared what you knew, asked hard questions, and stayed committed to western North Dakota. This work only moves when people choose to move it together.

A year worth celebrating

2025 was a year of real momentum. Our membership grew to 119 members, representing a 25 percent increase from the year prior. That growth matters, not as a number, but as a signal that more leaders are choosing shared effort as the path to stronger communities.

Across the year, Vision West ND convened learning, planning, and collaboration through consortium meetings, committee work, workshops, and regional engagement. Together, members and partners helped shape conversations that were practical, grounded, and focused on action.

One example of that shared learning is the strength of our programming and the engagement of our speakers. This year included 37 presenters across consortium meetings, Behavioral Health, Energy and Natural Resources, Planning, and podcasts, each contributing expertise to help the region learn faster and act with more confidence.

Our Behavioral Health Summit continued to be a space where people could gather, learn, and connect. In 2025, the summit welcomed 132 registered attendees, alongside 23 registered exhibitors and 29 sponsors. That kind of participation reflects a region that is not waiting for solutions to arrive. We are building them.

Network strength was the real accomplishment

In 2025, our shared work was powered by something that rarely shows up on a checklist but changes everything once it exists. Network strength.

Vision West ND is a collaborative on purpose. Membership helped build relationships and shared learning that support our members' work and strengthen our priority area initiatives. When leaders are connected, resources move faster, ideas sharpen, and collaboration becomes a practical way to expand reach and effect change across western North Dakota.

Collaboration is not just agreeing on what matters. It is practicing shared responsibility across distance, across roles, and across competing demands. It is turning parallel efforts into a shared strategy, so good work travels further than any one community can carry it alone.

Excitement for what comes next

We are stepping into 2026 with a clearer roadmap and a growing bench of leadership.

In 2025, Vision West ND completed a comprehensive update to its Regional Plan, shaped through engagement with members, committee leadership, local governments, state agencies, and community partners. It sets a framework across eleven priority areas and will be formally shared with the consortium at the 2026 Annual Meeting.

Planning is also underway for the 2026 Summit on Behavioral Health in Energy Country, scheduled for June 17 and 18 in Dickinson. This next season of work carries the same spirit that made 2025 strong. We gather, we learn, we connect, and we build durable solutions that fit the realities of our region.
