Western North Dakota communities need to work together to embrace mental health
for the strength and well-being of our children, workforce, and communities.

The 2026 Summit on Behavioral Health in Energy Country brought together providers, educators, first responders, advocates, community leaders, and partners who understand that behavioral health is foundational to strong communities.

Over two days, participants engaged in practical learning, courageous conversation, and evidence-informed strategies connected to the real challenges facing western North Dakota. From trauma and resilience to prevention, public safety, rural access to care, and community-based support, this Summit created space for insight that moves beyond discussion and into action.
